A 1984 Devo photo by Edward Colver who also taped the word WAR below STOP road sign. The band are wearing nazi-parody uniforms with peace armband.

The symbol designed for the British nuclear disarmament movement in 1958 is now widely known as the “peace sign“.

Nazi-style parody armband replacing the swastika with peace sign make up for a very good design in my view. Replacing a symbol of hate with a symbol of love. A great idea with some shock value.
