📺 Today in History: MTV went on the air

August 1, 1981, MTV goes on the air, bringing music videos to the masses – at least the ones with cable. 

It was the world’s first 24 hours stereo video music channel. 

However, it all goes down the shitter, since today MTV is mostly known for its “reality” TV show.

I guess YouTube is much better at fulfilling this role.
