- Google is the leader of the pack, by very very far.
- Number 2 is YouTube.com. Which is owned by Google aka Alphabet.
- Both, Google and YouTube, share 113 BILLION Monthly Visits in August 2024.
- Both made a shitload of Money with Google Ads.
- Number 3, Facebook, “only” received 12.88 Billion visits in August.
Top 10 Websites Revenue Streams
- Advertising by far. With such a humongous amount of traffic, making businesses pay to advertise on your website is a no-brainer!!
- WhatsApp makes money through commissions from financial transactions.
- Even through Reddit makes a lot of money from advertising. They never ever made a single penny of profit. Tech companies operate on a whole different universe than any other kind of businesses.
Wikipedia is a non profit collecting money from fundraising. - Your Datas are also extremely valuables for all of them.

Now what about the revenue sources.
- 3 behemonths are e-commerce like me.
- 3 are making most of their money from Advertising. I’m not there yet.
- 2 are collecting Commissions (eBay and Booking.com). Kind of like affiliate marketing on steroids.
- PayPal is a payment processor.
- Salesforce makes most of its revenues from subscription.
And there you have it – the digital titans raking in billions of visits and, of course, cash. Whether it’s Google ruling our search lives or Amazon making sure we never have to leave our couch to buy…anything, these websites are not just part of our daily routine – they are our daily routine.
